Advanced Nitrox Diver

The Advanced Nitrox Course is the transitional training program that introduces the competent and experienced recreational scuba diver to the exciting world of technical diving. Technical diving is the most advanced form of scuba diving. Technical divers use advanced procedures, skills, and equipment to make dives beyond the scope of traditional recreational scuba diving.

In the Advanced Nitrox Course you will be introduced to the methods of advanced dive planning and gas management. You will learn how to manage decompression obligations on longer, deeper dives. You will learn about the performance advantages of technical diving gear configurations and you will be introduced to the performance and safety advantages of using multiple gas mixtures selected for your particular dives.

Whether your goal is to advance into the realm of technical diving or to just be the best recreational diver you can be, you should consider the Advanced Nitrox Diver Program.

This course covers advanced diving concepts and procedures. It also includes technical diving experiences that are beyond the traditional limits of recreational scuba. In order to be prepared for this course, you need to already have some diving experience and some advanced training.

The prerequisites for this course are:

This course is designed to be the recreational diver's entry into the world of technical diving. During training, students will not be able to ascend directly to the surface on all dives because of a real or simulated decompression ceiling (stop). As a result, students must have fully redundant access to their gas supply during their dives. This means that each student must have at least one tank with an "H" or "Y" type dual outlet valve and two regulators (1st and 2nd stages). Double tanks with a dual outlet manifold may also be used in this class, however, due to the buoyancy and trim differences of doubles, the student should have prior experience diving doubles before using them in the class. The student must also have a BC and/or harness that can be rigged to carry stage decompression cylinders.

Additional required equipment includes:

Use of stage decompression cylinders during the course is included in the course fees.

The course will consist of:

In the Advanced Nitrox Diver course, the number of students in each class is kept small so that each student gets plenty of individual attention and coaching in the skills of technical diving.
